Is Chef Happens free?
Yes to start. Every new account gets a 30-day free trial with every feature unlocked — no credit card required. After the trial you stay on Sauce Chef (free forever), or move up to Sous Chef or Head Chef for unlimited recipe generations, weekly meal plans and imports. You'll see the exact monthly price in your local currency inside the app before you subscribe.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone 6s and later (iOS 15.1+), iPad (iPadOS 15.1+), and Android phones and tablets (Android 7.0+). A web version is on the roadmap for after the mobile launch.
Where is Chef Happens available?
At launch, Chef Happens is available in Australia, New Zealand and India. We geo-locked the first release so we could ship genuine regional fluency — local units, seasons, festivals and brand names — rather than spreading thin. More regions will follow, driven by demand.
What can Chef Happens actually do?
Turn ingredients (typed, spoken or photographed) into a fresh AI recipe; plan a whole week with a matching grocery list; track a smart Pantry with expiry dates and running-low nudges; save favourites into Collections; import recipes from URLs, short videos, screenshots or handwritten notes; and cook step-by-step with timers and voice. Pepper handles the food, Fizz handles the drinks.
Do I need an account?
Yes — a free account keeps your saved recipes, pantry and meal plans synced across your devices, so switching phones never loses your kitchen.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play, so you can view, change or cancel any time from your device's subscription settings. If you cancel, you keep your paid features until the end of the current billing period.
